Realme announced that it will launch a flagship phone with the SD888 chip in the first quarter of 2021. The handset is reportedly codenamed Race and model number RMX2202. Xu Qi, President of Realme China, had previously indicated via Weibo that the Realme Race would start in the coming months.

Xu Qi mentioned in a Weibo post that the race smartphone will be presented in China after the Spring Festival (February 12). Therefore, the Realme Race is expected to hit the Chinese market in the second half of February. While information released by Gizmochina last month revealed the details of the Realme Race smartphone, last week’s leak also revealed the existence of the Race Pro handset. Like the Race model, its Pro sibling can also be powered by the Snapdragon 888.

The Realme Ras Pro is expected to come with a 6.8-inch OLED panel. The screen is likely to have Quad HD + resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, aspect ratio of 20: 9 and refresh rate of 160 Hz. This device can be equipped with a triple camera system of 64 megapixels + 13 megapixels + 13 megapixels.

The SD8888 chip can be equipped with 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM. It can be supplied in three storage versions like 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. It can hold a 5,000 mAh battery with 125 W fast charging technology. It can be loaded with Android 11 OS which is based on Realme UI 2.0.

As is well known, the Snapdragon 888 generally promises faster performance, but is more energy efficient, not only does the Snapdragon 888 offer 35% better graphics performance with 20% better efficiency. For game lovers, this graphical advantage is clearly very tempting.

The Snapdragon 888 also supports new game and graphics features, 10-bit HDR graphics, advanced rendering and a refresh rate of 144 fps as well as support for the new shading engine with variable rate, Qualcomm Game Quick Touch support for lower input latency and features like z as subpixel rendering for a smoother image.
